Srirangapatnam, Karnataka, India
Took a quick trip down to Mysore and stopped off at Srirangapatnam along the way.
Stunning Island fortress where the Tipu Sultan was killed by the Duke of Wellington in 1799. Until last week, I had not realised the Duke was even in India, let alone sorting out an uprising.
Amazing how these Brits got around the Globe 200+ years ago.
Anyway, on the Island is the stuning temple of Vishnu Sri Ranganathasvami - reputedly 1200+ years old. Quite gorgeous and serene!
